This Privacy Policy explains how ReturnDay LLC (“ReturnDay,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our doorstep merchandise-return pickup and delivery services, website, forms, communications, and related services.

By using ReturnDay, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • Customer, membership, transaction, pickup-request, or return identifiers

When you use an address checker or submit a pickup address, ReturnDay or its service providers may process address-validation information, approximate geographic coordinates derived from the address, and whether the address is located within ReturnDay’s service area.

We may also collect photographs and documentation related to the Services, including:

  • Item photographs
  • Proof-of-value documentation
  • Package photographs
  • Pickup photographs
  • Drop-off photographs
  • Receipt photographs
  • Return documentation
  • Other records reasonably necessary to document eligibility, custody, condition, and completion of a return

We may receive information from service providers that operate portions of the Services on our behalf, including form, payment, website, email, mapping, database, storage, and workflow providers.

2. Payment Information

Payments are processed by third-party payment processors.

ReturnDay does not intentionally collect or store complete payment-card numbers or card security codes. Those details are submitted directly to and processed by the applicable payment processor.

ReturnDay may receive limited payment-related information, including:

  • Payment status
  • Transaction amount
  • Transaction date
  • Customer or subscription identifiers
  • Payment-method type or card brand
  • The last four digits of a payment card
  • Billing information made available by the payment processor

The payment processor’s collection and use of payment information are also governed by its own privacy policy and terms.

3. Information Collected Automatically

When you use our website, forms, address checker, or other online Services, ReturnDay and its service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, including:

ReturnDay may also create and use aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual for operational, analytical, planning, and service-improvement purposes.

5. Photographs and Chain-of-Custody Records

ReturnDay may photograph packages, pickup locations, labels, identifying information, drop-off locations, and receipts for purposes including:

  • Documenting package condition
  • Confirming pickup
  • Confirming transfer of custody
  • Matching packages to return records
  • Confirming drop-off
  • Supporting customer service
  • Investigating claims
  • Preventing fraud
  • Maintaining service records

These photographs are used for operational and documentation purposes and are not intended for public use unless separately authorized.

Pickup, package, and drop-off photographs may incidentally capture portions of a residence, driveway, doorway, vehicle, surrounding property, or other visible background. ReturnDay will make reasonable efforts to limit photographs to information relevant to documenting the return and performance of the Services.

ReturnDay does not use customer, package, pickup, or drop-off photographs for facial recognition, face-geometry scanning, biometric identification, or the creation of biometric identifiers or biometric information.

ReturnDay does not intentionally collect fingerprints, voiceprints, retina or iris scans, or scans of hand or face geometry through the Services.

6. QR Codes, Labels, and Return Information

QR codes, prepaid labels, return authorizations, and similar information may contain personal or transaction-related information.

ReturnDay may use this information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Complete the customer’s return
  • Confirm the applicable retailer or carrier
  • Identify the correct return destination
  • Investigate problems
  • Maintain records of the transaction
  • Enforce our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

Customers should not provide ReturnDay with information that is unrelated to the return or unnecessary to complete the Service.

Customers should not provide Social Security numbers, government-issued identification documents, financial-account credentials, medical information, genetic information, biometric information, or other sensitive information unless ReturnDay specifically requests the information and it is reasonably necessary to provide the Services or address a claim or legal requirement.

7. How We Share Information

ReturnDay may disclose personal information to third parties when reasonably necessary to operate the business, provide the Services, process a transaction, protect legal rights, or comply with law.

  • Mapping and address-validation providers

  • Protect ReturnDay, its representatives, customers, retailers, carriers, service providers, or the public

  • Enforce ReturnDay’s agreements

ReturnDay does not sell or rent customers’ personal information for monetary consideration.

ReturnDay does not provide customer QR codes, prepaid labels, return authorizations, package photographs, pickup photographs, or claims records to third parties for targeted advertising.

8. Service Providers

ReturnDay may use third-party service providers to operate portions of the business.

These providers may process information on our behalf in connection with services such as:

  • Website hosting
  • Email
  • Payments
  • Forms
  • Databases
  • Workflow automation
  • File storage
  • Analytics
  • Customer communications

ReturnDay provides service providers only with information reasonably necessary for them to perform their applicable services. ReturnDay selects service providers that are expected to maintain safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information they process and uses contractual or platform protections where reasonably available.

Service providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies when they collect information directly from customers or operate as independent businesses, such as payment processors, retailers, and carriers.

9. Data Retention and Disposal

ReturnDay retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, administer memberships, maintain business records, resolve disputes, investigate claims, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.

As a general practice, return-specific records may be retained for approximately 12 months after completion of the applicable return, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary.

Account and membership information may be retained while the membership or customer relationship remains active and afterward when reasonably necessary for billing, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legal purposes.

When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, ReturnDay may delete, de-identify, or securely dispose of it. ReturnDay will use disposal methods reasonably designed to make covered personal information unreadable, unusable, or undecipherable, consistent with applicable law.

Deletion from active systems may not immediately remove information from backups, archives, fraud-prevention records, or systems maintained by service providers.

10. Data Security and Security Incidents

ReturnDay uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, acquisition, disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction.

Safeguards may include access controls, account-security measures, service-provider protections, restricted access to operational records, and other measures appropriate to the nature of the information.

ReturnDay will investigate suspected security incidents and will provide notice to affected individuals, government authorities, or other parties when required by applicable law.

However, no electronic system, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Customers should use reasonable care when transmitting sensitive information electronically and should notify ReturnDay if they believe their information or ReturnDay account has been compromised.

11. Cookies and Analytics

ReturnDay’s website and online Services may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Operate and secure the website
  • Maintain website functionality
  • Remember preferences
  • Measure website usage
  • Analyze traffic
  • Identify errors or performance problems
  • Improve website performance
  • Understand how visitors use the website and Services

ReturnDay may use both essential cookies and analytics cookies. Third-party website, hosting, form, mapping, or analytics providers may also place or access cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Most browsers allow users to block or delete cookies through browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect website, form, address-checker, or payment functionality.

ReturnDay does not use customer QR codes, return records, package photographs, pickup photographs, or claims information for cookie-based advertising.

12. Marketing Communications

ReturnDay may send marketing emails where permitted by law.

Customers may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication or by contacting ReturnDay. ReturnDay may retain limited suppression-list information to honor an opt-out request.

ReturnDay will not send automated marketing text messages without any consent required by applicable law. Consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of purchasing ReturnDay’s Services.

Opting out of marketing communications does not prevent ReturnDay from sending non-marketing communications reasonably necessary to provide the Services, including pickup information, return status, billing notices, membership information, security notices, and cancellation confirmations.

13. Children’s Privacy

ReturnDay’s Services are not intended for children under 18.

ReturnDay does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 for the purpose of providing the Services.

If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected improperly, we may take reasonable steps to delete it.

14. Your Choices and Privacy Requests

Customers may contact ReturnDay to:

  • Update certain account information
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Ask what categories of personal information ReturnDay maintains about them
  • Request deletion of certain personal information
  • Opt out of marketing communications

ReturnDay may request information reasonably necessary to verify the requester’s identity and locate the applicable records before completing a request.

ReturnDay may deny or limit a request when retaining or using the information is reasonably necessary to:

  • Maintain transaction, pickup, drop-off, or chain-of-custody records
  • Process payments or administer a membership
  • Investigate or resolve a claim
  • Prevent fraud, theft, misuse, or security incidents

  • Comply with applicable law
  • Protect another person’s information or rights

ReturnDay will respond to privacy requests in accordance with applicable law and the nature of the request.

15. Third-Party Retailers and Carriers

ReturnDay may interact with retailers, carriers, return centers, and other third parties in connection with a customer’s return.

These third parties operate under their own privacy practices.

ReturnDay is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent retailers, carriers, or other third parties.

16. Business Transfers

If ReturnDay is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, restructuring, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction where permitted by law.

17. Changes to This Privacy Policy

ReturnDay may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the Services, information practices, technology, service providers, or applicable law.

The updated Privacy Policy will identify its effective date and will be posted on ReturnDay’s website.

When required by law, or when a change materially affects how previously collected personal information is used or disclosed, ReturnDay will provide additional notice through email, the Services, or another reasonable method and will obtain consent when required.
